Junkyard Athletics

Ladies, we all have that moment.  You know which one I am referring
too.  The one where we each find ourselves standing in front of the
“enemy”.  Which naturally, is your mirror.  We turn this way and that
way, angling, scrutinizing each portion.  Of course, the door is
firmly locked during these battles of self-critical warfare.

If you too battle with your “junk in the trunk”, I have found the
solution for you.  Vanessa Hennessy had created her own private battle
station for those who choose to fight the war against cellulite.  She
has real junkyard tires to bravely race through, standing punching
bags to vent all of your stressors upon, and plenty of floor space to
work up a great high cardio work out.  And, men, while you may strut
around, seemingly impervious to this situation, Vanessa is there to
back you up too!

Originally from San Fransisco, Vanessa has a long career in health
fitness.  In fact, you might say she has made it her personal life’s
mission.  Vanessa migrated to the U of O to major in biology.  She has
orchestrated “boot camp” programs, been a long time ACE certified
personal trainer, and has now perfected her arena of fitness.  She
does not however, want to be associated with the new trend of
“bootcamp” trainings.  She welcomes the novice to the experienced
fitness seekers, and says that there is no move that cannot be
modified.  Her workouts may begin inside, however they may travel to
the courtyard outside, and perhaps beyond.  Predictability is not her
thing!  And, Venessa is not afraid to spice up the air with some great
music, which definitely adds fun to the mix!

Junkyard Athletics does not require a membership, and offers monthly
rates and welcomes drop-ins, depending on the class size.  Here, you
may rely upon reasonable rates so that you can maintain this work out
routine.  Stop the on-going battle to fit into your perfect jeans
ladies and gentlemen, and drop in on Junkyard Athletics.  Located on
3060 River Road in Eugene.

Eugene Yoga

Posted on 03 February 2012 by admin

Are you looking for a little peace, serenity, and true wellness?  We
rush about through our days, flying through appointments, booking
every minute, scheduling our lives away.  It is time to take a breath,
and slow down.  When you are ready to do that Eugene, it is time to
find Eugene Yoga.  Here you find your elusive tranquility.  Here time
slips away, and life and light are celebrated through the art of yoga.
Here, you can heal.

As person who packs as much in as little time as possible, I have
always shied away from yoga.  Too slow.  Takes way too much time.  I
need Cardio!  Despite these assumptions, I stepped through the door to
sample one of the classes offered to me.  To say that many of my
perceptions were slayed would be a gross understatement.  Instead, I
was drawn into a wonderful yet challenging workout, within a
supportive group environments, and I felt a true balance of peace and
blissful release of endorphins.

Yoga is not a substitute.  It is not an easy exercise punctuated with
“ohms”.  Yoga is exercise routines based on the wellness for the body
and mind.  Eugene Yoga promotes guidance, respect, and builds a base
of strength and coordination.  There are eighteen licensed and
certified Yoga instructors here, each with different specialties and
varied teaching styles.  Eugene Yoga is like a beautiful puzzle, with
each piece donating strength and harmony to the whole.

However, it should be said that Eugene Yoga is a testament to it’s
creators.  Born of a faltering community center and of one very
special woman’s personal need to conquer her own struggles, Eugene
Yoga emerged.  Here yoga was created for all.  Pre-natal classes,
classes for children, men only, women only, tailored for hiking,
office chair oriented yoga, and gental yoga.  For those “in the know”,
Eugene Yoga offers anusara, lyengar, forrest, vinyasa, ananda, and
more in their varied programs.  However, it should be understood that
at the root of it all, Eugene Yoga is run by a formed family.  It
signifies their gift to their community.

So, if you are ready to embrace your inner calm, harness your inner
strengths, and be willing to take in that which make you stronger,
come to Eugene Yoga.  Peace awaits you.
